Fractal is a geometric term officially proposed by mathematician Benoît B. Mandelbrot in 1975. It refers to a complex geometric shape that has self-similarity and usually a non-integer (fractional) dimension. It's considered a mathematical language for describing irregular forms in nature and is also called 'the geometry of nature.'
